My Uncle and a couple of other guys would convert vans during that period - I had a hand held carpet sewing machine and I shagged probably 50, 60 vans - Two of us were in the USAF and the others had part time jobs so it was an evening/weekend job
every time I see that two colored deep **** I start itching

I bought a new Ford Cheateau Van back in 77. Built a bed in the back and put in a heck of a sound system. Sure does bring back memories of a fun time in my life.

PO of my 56 Panel covered everything in the back with it. Of course it had the famous "If this van's a rockin" decal too

I hope you used industrial strength gloves. I think I can see the DNA on that carpet.

It was truly a sight to behold. Unfortunately, I had paper photos of it that have since been lost. The outside was painted baby poop yellow with brown and Orange flames.

Built several of those the first one was for the guy that was in the USAF with me that came to work building them - I never understood him with a love van - He was a gun nut, go into work in the morning and see him and a few of his buddies climbing the inside of the hanger roof (A B52 could fit in one) - He had a Federal license for machine guns, he used to go play aggressor against the National Guard
All that and he was really good at building the seats, beds and those such places.
