What is this vent looking thing?

I'm sorry because I know this has prob been covered before and I just missed the "boat" but it's kind of hard to search for a thread with a specific picture.

Temp sensor behind it for auto climate control would be my guess.

That's what I thought, because my old Audi's have almost the same looking vent. Just want to be sure before I cover over it.

Could it be the mic for the voice control?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using IB AutoGroup

On mine the mic is in the ceiling but who knows. Easy one to test right?

My mic is also above the driver's head in the headliner. I'm not positive about what the vent thing is, but I had also felt it was the temp sensor for auto climate control.

I guess the only way to really find out is to tear into it.
I just assumed that this "vent" had been discussed before.

It is for your auto setting for the climate control. That is where it takes it's readings per say.

I always thought that was where the truck listened to the road noise and raised the radio accordingly.

That's what I was thinking. The radio has it where you can adjust this in your settings.
