They won't install my cab lights with sunroof

Decided to let a professional tackle the cab lights on the roof. This place does these all the time.

The installer said he cannot install the Recon cab lights with the moonroof.

Anyone in the Wisconsin area that would be willing to do it for cash or know of a place that will. I told him it could be done and has been done but he didn't wanna hear it. He said they will leak.

They come on stock trucks with mooonroof. Unfortunately this place does them for the dealers around me and I dunno where else to call to have them installed.

Ruined my freaking day...

I was gonna say, Ford does it from the factory with the moon/sun roof. Since I have BOTH.

Doesn't make sense. Why would a moon roof have anything to do with them leaking? If they will leak with a moon roof, they will leak without one.

Sounds like they just don't want to do the job.

He said because he cant put them back far enough so they don't sit properly with the roof line. I wanted to argue with him but what's that gonna do me? It's obvious they didn't wanna or feel comfortable with it.

I felt if I signed a waiver then maybe they wouldn't give a crap and do a hack job so not worth it.

Need to find someone cause I've been looking forward to this for a year.

I've called 3 places (I believe the only 3 around) they will not touch them.

Guess I'm going to tackle it myself.

If a newbie to cab lights on here can do it in 4 hours (from the old posts and threads I've read up on) and have no leaks it amazes me that these places won't do it. Irritating

I could be wrong but there must have been a problem in the past that has created this fubar. There are some things simple in the factory that don't seem to pan out after market. Just saying!

Read this - it's pretty easy and this is virtually step by step

The side curtain air bags might have scared them off - it has scared me to the point of wishful thinking (my '06 with a sunroof had cab lights)

I've done 3 sets with moonroofs including my own truck. The lights sit perfect if you are using proper measurements.

You used the Recons right?

I saw in the other threads on this that guys are using stainless steel bolts/screws instead of the ones provided. I'm assuming you did as well?
