1990 f350 cc seat swap question

I was wondering if anybody knows if the seats from a 99 f350 cc lariat will fit into a 1990 f350 Crewcab? Will I have to drill new holes through the floor? How difficult of a job would it be? Thanks

another option instead of drilling would be to weld them to the floor.

you see guys putting the super duty 40/20/40 setup in 'em.they make the cab look a bit overstuffed imo.i imagine a bench would look about the same.there's no need to weld the seats to the floor.just drill what holes you need.the seat belt straps have their devoted mounts and that's what will keep you put in the event of a collision.

Ya I kind of want to put the 40/20/40 seats into it. The 99 cab looks a bit smaller then the 90 so I thought it would look about the same?

super duty trucks ('99+ f250/f350 pickups) have larger cabs than ours.

that might take a little more work than a seat swap.

Haha ya but I think it shouldn't be too hard since I already have an idi the wiring should all be the same... Probably a days work I'm guessing?

to swap in an idi diesel in place of a gas engine, you need the entire fuel system from tanks or at least tank pickups, with feed and return lines.the radiator support and radiator are much larger and need to be changed.the trans bolt pattern isn't ford.it's navistar and it's specific to the engine so you'll need one of them too.then you've got to mount the engine and trans and make sure you end up with the correct drive shaft length.
you'll also need another battery and much larger cables.don't forget a glow plug system with all it's wiring.
if you can get that much work done in a day........i will hire you to work for me!

Lol ya that would be quite the accomplishment! But it's already an idi so it should be pretty easy I think. Do you know if I will have to add anything for the turbo?

oh you already have a diesel truck! haha well ok that's a horse of a different color.you don't need to swap engines.just bolt the turbo on.unless of course your engine in there isn't any good.but it's just like any other engine swap.......just super heavy.

I'm not too sure how good my engine is I need to do a compression check. The other turbo idi I'm looking at is already all together with a moose pump and moose injectors so I was thinking it might be easier to avoid all the injection pump and fuel setup. Then while the other engine is out I can fix it up.

I love both engines but if you want decent gas mileage I'd probably go idi. Turbo idi for a little more power...
