Carrier bearing misalignment

'93 f150 2wd 5.0 xlt 155in. wb. I recently (6 months ago) replaced the carrier bearing in the truck after the torque converter gave up violently. I replaced the transmission (aod) with a lower mileage one from a 92 mustang. same length and cable/line locations. after replacing it the carrier bearing was a little bit bent towards the bed of the truck. it blew out again after 1500 miles and when I put the new one in it is almost to a 45 degree angle towards the rear of the truck. I compared everything to the old parts when replacing them and the engine wasn't moved and all mounting positions for motor and tranny are in good shape.

When you replaced the carrier bearing did you replace the outside metal housing and the rubber cushion(all as one unit) with it also? If you did the part that that all mounts to must be bent.

I had replaced it as a unit and the mount looks straight as can be. Could the output shaft have moved for some reason and how would I fix that. Like if the output shaft had been pushed towards the back of the tranny. It shifts fine as far as that's concerned

Only if the assembly you replaced was offset. ie if the holes in the metal housing were off to one side OR the bearing had a wider inside race to one side.
