Estimates on a paint job
Hi, it depends on how much prep work you want to do!!!! A paint job is only as good as the surface. So, if you want to go to Earl Schib or Maaco, you pay about $500, and they shoot what you bring in. with some masking.
If you prep the vehicle. ie remove all trim, fix all dings and dents, do a real sanding job, and a great primer job. And have the primer ready for a top coats, those 2 can do a OK job. If you take it to a pro-shop, expect to pay about $2000+. And the job will be done right.
Most importantly, and most people don't know this, quality auto paint is very expensive. $200+/gallon. Shop time can run $100/hour, so if you do the prep work, you can save a lot of $$$
It's your decision about how much work you want to do, and where to take it.

Estimates on a paint job
Depends on where you go. Went to my Ford dealer for an estimate to go by, they wanted $5K and that included a lifetime warranty. That price also included a lot of bodywork and prep and a few trim pieces.
So I took the Bronco to a very established and reputable smaller body shop and they wanted $1,600 total for everything. That was for a 2-tone black and silver paintjob with red pinstriping and clear coat plus all body work and prep. I went with their estimate, I only paid $2.5K for my Bronco, so I couldn't justify spending more on paint than I did for the Bronco.
I could do alot of modding with the $$ I saved.
