Maybe found the new truck today... time for you to pick it apart

Probably with the spare tire... wait, that was missing too. Well the tire isn't but the wheel is I didn't even notice they weren't there. I can always take the ones from mine though

Save your money for the exhaust until you can buy the Banks System. The sooner the better, the broken studs weren't fun. Our original exhaust had a crack in the bend right after the muffler. I didn't have time to study the pics but nothing caught my eye except taking a closer look at the coolant.

1. Coolant tank - why is it so dark? You look inside it?
2. WTF is that on the driver's side rear axle/wheel? Am I just not understanding what I'm seeing?
3. Is this a 2000? I thought we all had a flat flange on the rear of the rear shaft? This truck has a different style. I may be wrong on this one because I have a different axle on my truck but mentioning it anyway.
4. Rear diff is wet.
PDF attached with items marked.

Didn't think of it at the time
No idea
It is a 2000 yes, but I have no idea.
It was excited to see me?

Just thought I'd mention, front bumper fascia gone and rear bumper looks turned down. In concert I'd guess someone hit the rear of the truck and front may have bumped a vehicle forward losing the facia. Just double check the frame mounting for the rear bumper to make sure there are no crinkles.
Figure on replacing all fluids immediately throughout the vehicle and driveline that way you know what's there and when it was done. Don't forget power steering purge, which makes me also want to mention you said there was front end shimmy. This can be due to both brakes and worn steering stabilizer which should even out most brake induced vibrations greatly.
I didn't see what the price was, but all in all it looks like an average condition vehicle. You didn't shoot interior... decent? Don't forget to check all controls front and rear seat are working.

He is stuck on the 4k, he won't budge on it at all. I have tried $3500 for weeks and he said 4k every time. He is stuck on that number. A carfax is still a good idea though, how much is one? I'll see about running it when I get back, have to go to the kitchen and help the wife make dinner

It has a vacuum leak at a front hub is my guess.
Doesn't look terrible, pretty decent i suppose but i can see a few things that need attention. Brakes, alignment (tires worn on the inside then moved to the rear), diff leak.
$4k doesnt sound bad, but consider you'll need atleast a grand to get some items fixed.

A single carfax is $40. I recommend it. It'll even have the dates it was taken to a dealership for maintenance. First time I did one I was amazed at the amount of info. $4k sounds like a very good price. Hell I'd buy it for that and put a Cummins in it.
