Advice On Shocks Needed

Have a 93 F250 4x4 351. Am needing to put front shocks on. I don't do any hard off-roading. Would also like to level the truck (2") if I can do it with just the Shocks if possible. What are your thoughts? I have read some reviews of different brands, but would appreciate your experiences. Thanks.

Shocks won't raise the truck, you would need springs or air bags or something like that.

Shocks are a lot like oil...many brands will work, and many hava opinions about what is best. I suspect anything you get will be better than what you have now.

Like bashby said, shocks don't lift,, they only dampen.

If you are intent on keeping the TTB front end, replacing the spring and pivot bushings with polyurethane will restore some height and tighten up the front a little.

Thanks for the input. I'm not sure on Rancho's, have read a few negative reviews. Bilsteins seem to have a lot of good reviews. Does anyone know anything about the Monroe Sensa Trac shocks?

Bilstiens are real good, Ranchos 5000s are stiff, your shock choice will dictate how smooth or rough your vehicle rides. An adjustable shock offers adjustability, soft to firm. I had the pro comp adjustables on my 2000 superduty, after 130k they still were not leaking. great shock and adjustable. of course adjustables, Rancho 9000s and Pro Comp MX6s are $100 apiece. Don't buy too cheap of a shock.

I have bilstein HD's (4600 series) on my truck, pretty happy with them. Paid around 280 for all four. I had cheap monroes that leaked in 3 months prior to this. I do four wheel some but not high speed or anything too senseless..

Oh my, I just paid more than that for a pair of Bilsteins. But they are rebuildable and revalvable at home.

I've got a friend that absolutely loves his Ranchos. The model he has are adjustable (On the truck!) with a lifetime warranty. That may be better for some than rebuildable.

This is actually a cool thing to know how to do.
Get the tools (gas etc) that are needed and it can be fun.
Guys who shock tune in the desert world are really good at it.

We no longer offer the myRide at this time.

Check out these guys:

POLY PERFORMANCE OFF-ROAD PARTS :: CO2 & Nitrogen Kits :: Multi-Brand CO2 & Nitrogen Kits :: Poly Performance Nitrogen Kit

There maybe more affordable alternatives, I know that a lot of DIY guys use this.
