New carburetor

I think that is wise. That choice eliminates the possibility of heat disturbing the beauty rest of your new carb. When do we get to see the vid of it running?
Off topic: I finally pulled the trigger and ordered all the parts, gaskets and porting bits, etc., to remove the ridges from my combustion chambers. My valves are severely shrouded. I'm certain to feel a performance boost. Lower c.r. slightly too. I'm finally bringing the valve spring, rocker, p.rod geometry to correct parameters. Because the over-size vales were longer than oem, I've needed longer p.rods to compensate. Now, with roller rockers I'll be able to test and compensate. It will also be interesting--hopefully not expensive--to see how my guides have worn.

I see Summit dropped the price of the 1848 Holley. I'm throwing together one more Quadrajet, 800 cfm (the primary side is actually equal to the cfm of the primary side of a 390), but if I'm not happy with it, or it takes 50 more tries of removing the top and dialing it in, I may just beat it with a hammer and buy an 1848. I found a QJ that came on a 231 turbo v6 regal, and just have to dial it up a bit.
