The 7.3's around here are listed for $1500+ with 200k+ miles and no turbo, injectors, or HPOP.

 

Dude in Waterford WI has a '97 PSD engine with injectors, turbo, harness, I presume HPOP, $800. I'd buy it if I had a place to put it.

 

They use a brine solition calcium chloride here in Maine, it's totally FU$!in horrible for vehicles, someone should be shot for that decision... But i digress..
The guy i bought my IDM from th other day has a 102k 02 7.3 he'd part with for $7-800... I'm toying with the idea of building one...

 

My town is no different than any other. They all use salt. The state does the calcium brine mix

 

On the main highways around here they are using more of a beet juice concoction. It seems to work well but sure leaves a dark hue on the paint. It seems to wash of easy though.

Not on the dirt roads, which is the majority of my travel(10+ miles). That, and we always took our vehicles through the full service car wash at least once a week. I know they used more gravel too, it was always all over the main roads when the snow melted in the spring. Maybe they did use that mix too, but I haven't been there in the winter time in almost 4 years. Granted I didn't have a car for the last 2 that I lived there. So almost 6 years of not really caring what they put on the roads.

 

Maybe I should of clarified. PAVED roads get salt

Hell, you are lucky the dirt roads even get plowed. They don't around here since they are not built up to spec, the road department will not maintain them(AT ALL)

 

Yup same here, the town roads are generally the paved roads and the dirt are unmaintained non-town roads...

 

Do you mind passing his information to me. If that motor has solid compression on all 8 I would consider shipping the damn thing for that cost!

 

They use Magnesium chloride out here... its not all bad when its dillutesd in the tankers on the highway, but they are starting to crystalize and concentrate it.

My fenders originally had no rot in them. The company that plowed our old apartment complex used the crystallized stuff. After a little over 2 years each fender was near completely eaten through....causing me to repaint the entire truck, patch metal the fenders.....

 

Thats actually fairly common here too
