Throwing an Offenhauser DP on tomorrow

My '67 is back from paint and body work. I pulled the Edelbrock 1v off and shipped it to MT, where someone else can put it to use. I have an Offy DP and a second on the way as a spare. I have a freshly rebuilt/rebushed Autolite 4100 480 cfm carb sitting on the bench as well. Tomorrow is the big day!

I just got my intake heat plate back from a friend that fabbed it up on the TIG welder for me. I just cut a new gasket and put some red RTV on each side tonight before bolting the intake plate on the intake.

I have EFI exhaust manifolds on this truck and my son's '72. His truck has an Offy C intake and a Holley 390 cfm carb but no heated intake plate installed yet. I had one made for his truck as well. I know both the bigger carb and exhaust make the inline 300 mean and I am looking forward to getting my newly refinished truck back on the road after being at the body guy for 3 months.

I also have the Ford water heated carb spacers for each truck, but I'm not sure if I'll install them yet.

Pic of the new plate:

Just a suggestion...put the water heater plates on before installing the manifold on the block...much easier. Then you can then hook it up to the heater hose at your leisure.

Murphy must have enacted his law today. I had to build a 1/4" thick aluminum spacer that is oversized towards the firewall, and have to use the carb water heated spacer, just to be able to make my original ball throttle linkage work. With that said, it was a lot of trial and error. I'm proud of the work, and am taking a break until tomorrow. To be continued...

Previously in another thread, someone mentioned that the aluminum elbows are available at outlets servicing A/C.

The top mounting tabs broke off/cracked on my offy due to the exhaust manifold not supporting the weight. Just something to watch out for/prevent.

I think that you will also need a 4 hole square flange carb spacer. At least a inch thick if I'm not mistaken. The throttle will not clear the intake otherwise.

It depends...my 465 cfm Holley sits right on the manifold without any problems with throttle clearance...but that is not the case for all carbs.
