2000 Limited 2wd V10 139k miles

Hey everyone!!!

I just bought an Excursion and so far I'm loving it! It has 139,000 miles on it and the seller was only asking $25,550. I was like SOLD!!! I guess he wanted one of the newer hybrid Excursions instead. Can hardly blame him, those are pretty sweet!

Since it's 2wd, he said I could just take it into any mechanic shop here in town and they could 'unlock' the special front part of the wheels and turn it into a 4wheel drive. Anyone here had that done? Not sure how all that mechanical stuff works but he said it should only cost about $100 or so. I'm super excited!

I was on the fence between a diesel and v10. He mentioned that at highway speeds the v10 will actually shut off some of the cylinders to save gas. It can even go down to as few as 2 cylinders when not towing. He said that when driving on 5 or less cylinders in this configuration, the MPGs are better than a diesel!

Apparently the rims were part of a special anniversary edition of this model. Only 50 or so came this way and he thinks this truck will be worth some real money in the future, just got to hold on to it! I'm hoping someday to turn a profit.

What do you guys think? Who wants to race?

I hope you are kidding. I would call him right back right now and get my money back. He scammed you. The V-10 does not cut off cylinders to save fuel(unless you shut the whole truck off...lol). We won't even discuss the fact that you waaaaay overpaid.

I hope this is a JOKE! It is a JOKE isn't it?

Yes it was a joke - I believe maybe prompted by this post - and an awesome one at that.

Sure it does, because all Excursions have the 3 Valve V10, if you were fortunate enough to have the muffler bearings packed by a Genuine FORD technician during the initial PDI and he/she also adjusted the trim differential overload setting on the tail light push rods a V10 EX should get at least 24 MPG.

Welcome to the club.
