Wish I was. Here in Appalachia "Cummings" is the norm rather than the exception. I hear and see it more than necessary. That add just happened to involve a Ford rather than a Dodge which usually "Cummings" is the only descriptor of the engine. I get local areas of our great country have different pronunciations of words (I am a Yankee transplant myself...) but when it becomes acceptable to spell it as it sounds then I go a bit crazy inside. Plus I may hate the truck it comes in but no need to disrespect Mr.Clessie Cummins and the brand he created.

And I agree ProjectDually, car adds in this day and age need pics. It isn't hard and what gets me the most is when a high asking price vehicle is listed w/o pics. A $500 Escort not really a big deal, I get it but a $25,000 resto vehicle a least snap a pic with a buddies phone and actually take 2 minutes to try and sell your junk.

Here's a couple from around the Chicago area:

1951 Ford F1 Flathead V8

1966 Ford F100

1977 Ford F100

1970 Ford F100 ratrod shop truck project

1966 Ford F100 3 speed manual

Everyone thinks they have gold sitting in their driveways

Before they disappear, here are the listings Mike put up:

Those may have me beat, but remember that prices are regional. For out here, that F150 is overpriced. If you're in the Salt Belt, it's probably a great deal.

Mike does have me beat, though. Those people are just plain crazy!

Hey Thanks Matador, I haven't figured out how to do that. There's a lot more of these truck around the Chicago area with comparable prices but my interests are turning to Finding a SWB Ford E100 Windowless Cargo van. These are getting real hard to find unless you live near the west coast or have $$$ to spare.

Not a problem! I need something to keep me from doing actual work

We used to live over by Antioch ages ago. Everything old is usually priced way high, or is a rust trap.

I haven't kept my eye out for one, but here in Wyoming, I'm sure that there's one. Believe it or not, there are still plenty of 70s Fords still on the road- they're just "old trucks" out here. Sadly, that would be a 1500 mile trip for you.

Best of luck on finding a van. There has to be one somewhere!

Well, you found one to make me cringe

Honestly, call it a rat rod and add a 5 figure pricetag? Sheesh.

I think I'm in love with the 86 you posted in Billings. Not that far from me either. I'd have to sell some of my overpriced junk first.

I'll agree, some of that stuff in Chicago is priced kind of high, but really not outrageous. In fact, that 51 Bonus Built F1 is probably priced right. Those pickups are consistently bringing around 2K around here and people are traveling 1000 miles to get them. F2 and bigger are a different story.

I really don't have a problem with anything under $2K as a project. Gotta keep in mind they are not making any more of them. Anything under $10K for a nicely done truck is also reasonable. That 77 for $6K in Chicago is also pretty sweet. Paint and body alone will run you at least $6K.

Tell me about it. Seems like if you state up front that you have no time for the idiots, they will swamp you with hate mail.

All you really need is one buyer and that is one sweet truck Brad.

Put my 56 F350 project up looking for trades valued around $2k. Pretty sure anybody wanting to trade was going to overvalue their contribution anyways. One guy proceeded to tell me my truck was worthless and I had better grab the $300 he offered before he changed his mind. I replied that his very entertaining offer was declined and he should check with his parents before he played on the Internet again. Boy, did that set him off! Blocked his email and trashed the conversation.

LOL... Nice.

That CL ad for the '51 "it's all there" (except for glass, and the front axle, and interior..) Next, there's no title, but he goes on to say because of the age, it's relatively easy to get one. Well, if it's so easy to get a title, why doesn't he get one then?

Agreed.

We have it good in Saskatchewan. A sworn statement is good for anything over 30 years old, or even missing paperwork. Not so in other areas and getting title can run into big bucks. If you are selling as a complete, you should be able to offer title.

I'm still OK with the pricing. It is what it is.

Brad , they're fools man. They have no idea how nice your truck is. It's too bad they limit how many photos they let you post. You could show them how nice it is underneath as well. If we weren't trying to get a new house, I would be trying every which way to buy it.
