Thanx for the info. Did you have to build up the frame where the CV attaches and do you have any pic's always like to see what others are doing

As to the CV suspension,I am afraid I cannot answer that question, as I prefer to keep the factory '66 IFS suspension it came with.
As to the differences, I know that in '65, Ford made radical changes to the frame, steering, suspension and so forth so that nothing under the skin interchanges after '64.
There are a few who have put a CV under a '65/'66, but most of us are pretty satisfied with the original suspension which is the same from '65 to '79.
In fact, for the '65/'66 trucks, many of us here have transplanted the '70s suspension as an easy upgrade for disc brakes; engine and transmission transplants as well as power steering are an easy upgrade too, all with Ford truck parts.
Hope this helps.

I boxed the frame rails where the CV bolts to the frame. This keeps the channel from compressing when torquing down the bolts. Other than that, it was pretty much bolt in. The steering was more involved. Take a look in my profile, under my photo gallery. I have a picture of the CV front mounted to the frame.
As for a CV swap into a 65-66 vs a solid axle truck. They are really pretty similar. The 65-66 will have a lot more tear down involved, since you have to remove the factory cross member. The solid axles dont have a cross member, so that saves a big step.
I will not get into a debate on improvements of CV IFS vs TTB front suspension. There are several trucks here that have done the swap. If I had a 65-66, I would have still done the swap.
