What's Knocking on my Flattie?

Before I pull and tear down my engine in my 51 F-1 I would like to explore all possibilities of what may be knocking in my engine.

What happened was....driving the truck down the road and suddenly it started knocking with a thud type of noise, not like valves clattering. The knock will speed up when accelerating and slow down when decelerating.

The thud noise is the same loudness except while accelerating and it is faster.

I can actually feel the knocks through the accelerator pedal.

In a earlier post I mentioned I pulled the belts off elimination anything that is belt driven as a possibility. Still knocking.

My first thought is a rod.....?
Someone mentioned wrist pin bushing......?
Another said fiber timing gear.....?

Any Ideas....?

Thanks.....Scott in Texas
