Swap 6.8 in F350 6.4

Hello

What do I need to swap a V10 6.8 3V in a 2009 F350 6.4L?

truck in Saudi Arabia, and the diesel engine failed because of very bad diesel grade in the country.

any help is appreciated.

Thank you

right off the top of my head you will probably need to rework the motor mounts.

new bell housing and torque converter.

New PCM from the donor truck as well.

Do you have the donor truck? maybe it is good enough to just fix that up and drive it?

You can't replace the bellhousing. It is a one piece case. And you don't need to, the 6.8L and 6.4L have the same bolt pattern. The trans will work, but you will need to replace the torque converter with a converter for a 6.8L or it will drive terribly.

Good know, thanks. What about programing though? Will the TCM need updating?

The best way is to find a similar year gas truck that was wrecked and swap in everything that is gasoline engine related to the diesel truck. You will need the gas tank with the correct feed and return lines and the V10 exhaust system along with all of the electronics under the dash as well as under the hood for ease of swap over. You may also want some lighter front springs too as the V10 does weigh less. Lots of work!!

Yes it will. The diesel software will shift the trans at too low of an RPM for a gas engine.
