Yep, really do miss it at times.
From what the kids described, same old command politics, but not really a lot has changed except that they have added 14 more hula-hoops to dance with to make rank...He has spent the last 24 months as an E5 in an E7 Chief's billet.
Maybe it has improved a little. Daughter called today all excited. They were notified today that they had a 1500 sq ft. 2.5 bath base housing waiting for them when they get to San Diego the end of August, 1st of Sept. They had been told, and were packing their stuff up for the PCS with the anticipation of being in a motel for up to 4 months before their name would make it to the top of the waiting list.

I haven't figured that .5 out myself. It is "quadplex". When I asked my daughter about it she said the description they got listed a full bath up stairs located between two bedrooms, a full bath down stairs and a "1/2" bath in the Master Bedroom...didn't ask her if the "master bedroom" was in the house or out in the garage.
When I was in the Navy they were cinderblock 1 story, concrete floor block houses with one bath and leaky roofs.
Later, with the Army, the number of "baths" depended on how many rain barrels and how many trees there were outside the back flap of the tent.

- Having a huge and expensive backup camper.
- Core FTE members driving a Fiat.
I'm really going to be sad to see the backup camper get sold. We will lose one of our more fun topics.
