You're not missing anything on the factory flaps.
First, on the DRW it is only rear flaps.
Second, the rear flaps suck, mine are in the basement.
Go with the Duraflaps. Excellent product and do a great job. The Duraflaps probably offer 100% more protection then the factory junk.
FWIW, If I was to re-order the fronts I would go with the 14" instead of the 12" wide. Try and protect those big butt rear fenders. I have dozens of tiny nicks on mine.

I picked up the Weathertech mud flaps for mine... 30 minutes to install all 4...
