Replaced the stock box with a red-head. Truck steers great! But now every so often when steering I hear a slight "growl" for a couple seconds. Any ideas??

 

Mine did that too - it's air in the system. It will eventually work its way out.

you can turn the steering wheel lock to lock periodically to assist in getting the air out, but it will eventually go away.

If I recall, I heard those noises for maybe a week or so, intermittently, after I installed mine.

Put the reservoir under a vacuum and
then do a stop to stop wheel turn and you
will get it out faster if it bugs you. Also
depress the brakes to remove any air
from the accumulator. Once your done
check fluid level.
