I know what you asked for but the kit is worth every penny when it comes to ease of install. You can literally do the install in a day with the kit.

The kit has been around for quite a bit. I did mine with the kit about 3 years ago. I would have to look at the dates of my posts for an accurate time frame. Ok I went and looked. I did mine in October 2011.

Yea they been making the kits for awhile now. My buddy actually had one of those kits on his truck around the same time as you. Fitment and ease was good he never finished the truck though before he sold it so I don't know how well it handled afterwards. I'd like to see how a front and rear independent suspension changes these trucks haven't got the chance yet.

your build is well documented to the point of if you do a google search
its almost always your truck that come up

I have seen a couple pics here and there of others that have done the swap

but that's all there is a couple pics

I hung a 8.8 from an explorer under mine and it's too narrow !
from what I have read the (mark) rear is a couple inches wider

P.S. Im trying to sell my 5 on 5.5 factory slot mags $200 plus the ups ride

I have seen 2 that were finished and didn't use the kit. One is a late '80s/early '90s truck. The other is Carcrafter's truck. All the images from his build are no longer viewable.

The later model truck is yellow if memory serves me right. The frames are 34" wide from '53-'72 so info from guys with different trucks would apply. The frame may extend even farther back.

I would look to the '53-'56 guys. Something tells me you might have decent luck finding info there.

Scored 2 axle assemblies !
1 from a T bird and 1 from a Lincoln
now the question is do I want to keep the air bags and use a Schrader valve
or go full blown adjustable air ride with the compressor that I can also snag from the Lincoln

I love this web site search around long enough and you will find everything your looking for

found this build on the 61 to 66 page

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...100-build.html

built his own mount kit that blows team 321 away !!!

I believe in the C.A.S.E. method when it comes to doing a custom build
if you see something that works
C. copy
A. and
S. steal
E. everything

Something you might want to consider. I seen pics somewhere of an install where they cut the front mounts off and bolted them directly to the bottom of the frame rail. They then fabbed what they needed to reattach to the original subframe.

I wanted the ability to bolt in a replacement with no fab work if need be so I did not go this route.

The yellow truck with the IRS is a 1988 model F150 owned by Shaun Draycott, who goes by the name 'Sportruk.'

When using one of these how much does it lower the frame as compared to the original ride height.
