You only notice it on the shower walls, it doesn't seem like anything bad to be bathing in. The clothes don't come out as nice from the washing machine as compared to using city water but they're still fine.

I can wash the truck with it and get the big mess off...but it's never clean enough to wax.

I'm just trying to figure out how much pressure and flow I need from a pump. Then I'll plumb up a small tank to a small water heater using a gravity feed setup, and hook up the pump to the output of the water heater.

get a 12v rv water pump

I would rather have it be 120V ac...but I have an inverter if that type of pump will be the best choice.

Great idea...I took a look at an RV supply site and they have much cheaper water tanks and pumps. In town I have only been looking at the ranch supply place and their stuff is much more heavy duty than I need.

I ended up with a 250 gal tank that will fit in the back of my older truck. I just ordered a SHURflo 2088-554-144 pump. It runs on12VDC, pumps 3.5 gpm, and can produce 45 psi. I don't have it yet but when it arrives I'm going to try using it with a regular garden hose sprayer. This way I can fill the tank in town with good water, and use it to wash my shiny truck and to water some apple trees we are getting ready to plant this year.
