You could probably make a profit parting it out. It may take a while, but it's better than sending good parts to the scrap yard IMO.
Or you could restore it?

I'd save it, but fortunately it's too far away. I need another truck like I need another prescription.

Sadly this is quite true... they are often worth more dead than alive. If you parted out the desireable bits on Craigslist and eBay then got decent scrap price for the rest you would get the most money from it. I just hate to see that with a clean, straight, "rust free" IDI VIN'd vehicle... that is a nice pick-up and when they're gone they're gone. Seems very backwards to me to s**t-can it over and engine knock. Honestly if I had a place to keep it I would have already bought it. It's not that far from me...

You can keep it over here in PA, just gotta find a way to hide it from the wife

If the inside is decent I would keep it. I'm close but haven't seen it. Here in Cali it is smog free that year so it would be a great build.

I feel the same way. That bed alone is worth a lot...especially up north
