Glad I bought my 7.3 when I did!
I was browsing insurance auctions the other day, just out of curiosity. I remember, geez almost three years ago now, I told my dad, I should jump on getting one now if I'm going to do it, because they'll only have a lot higher mileage and be in worse shape in a few years. What I found the other day was not only higher mileage, but a lot less selection! When I bought the one I did, I wanted it equipped as identical as possible, and within a reasonable distance. I got just that too, equipped exactly the same options wise, with reasonably low mileage. Now, I was lucky to find any 7.3s in the country, and the closest one to what I'd need was in Texas, was lifted, and had an engine fire.
I'm pretty sure I couldn't buy today, what I bought three years ago.
That 7.3 is still a stand in the garage, but that's a story for another day.

The 6.0 can also be modded to be a great, reliable, more powerful with more torque (then what the 7.3 crowd can probably handle) And the upside is we don't have to deal with that crappy transmission.
My cat ran away here kitty kitty
Mark your right in comparing a Clydesdale and a 7.3, they run about the same speed
Ok, let the wars begin

Mark here's my take on it.

Love you, anyway.
Since a good 7.3 is so hard to find I would be hard pressed to find another and may settle for a 6.0.

I did search for a 7.3 for sometime, I just couldn't find a 2002/2003 model in clean enough shape for me. But I can honestly say after spending the $$$'s on the 6.0 I'm glad I ended up this route. No regrets here

You are so right, 7.3's have a tendency to be treated like a mule (because they are so reliable) with minimum maintenance.
The owners also treat the interior likewise.

I only use it for towing and long distance for the most part now, so a diesel would make sense. Plus, epic torque, and THAT SOUND.

Yet you can find 6.8`s all over and they are just as reliable! much rather have the V-10 than the diesel!
That's funny. It's like the bald guy with a bumper sticker that says "Bald is Beautiful."
