Good example VECI label for 5.0/5.8L engine trucks:

7.5L engine trucks may be going to manifold vacuum:

There is a pic in this link below where it shows the CANP does indeed go to manifold vacuum on 7.5L trucks. I recently learned, then overlooked again, how the 7.5L engine trucks have different EVAP system hose routing.

I looked at Mitchell and Alldata, On the Alldata diagrams I can't even read the text, it's a poor diagram. On some of the Mitchell diagrams it shows one side of the can p going straight to the throttle body and the the other side of the can p solenoid going to the charcoal canister and there is a "T" on that line, the "T"ed hose goes to the other side of the throttle body.

I did check the fpr and vaccum line no fuel present , there isn't a leak at the canp solenoid . After reading another post I tried changing the intake air charge sensor, before that the o2 sensor wouldn't switch between open and closed loop it now does . it is better ,but still smells rich

Did you put a gauge on it to test fuel pressure? You should have 28-45 psi with the engine running. With the engine idling it will go in and out of closed loop. If it was running rich the sparks could be fouled, I'd pull a few out and look at them.

I did use a gauge , the pressure running was 38 , with the vaccum unhooked it was 45 . before I put the air temp sensor in it wouldn't switch from open to closed . pulled a few plugs and they are light brown . the exhaust still smells rich , burns your eyes and throat

38 PSI fuel pressure at idle? That seems high to me. I would expect to see 30-32 PSI. Perhaps 7.5L trucks use a little higher pressure than the 5.0/5.8L engines.

Does the scanner you are using show fuel trim?, short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim and what are the numbers?
