MORE PROGRESS

I picked up my headers from the powder coater today, I'm happy with them. The engine is basically done except for a few little odds and ends. I'll cover it up and push it in the corner. I should be able to start on the firewall tomorrow. I've also started my list of parts to order from DC. I'm up to $1000 already. It doesn't take long......

The red circle in the background is a picture of the engine I took in 2008 when I first built the engine!

Lookin good!

Why did you powdercoat the headers? Powdercoat can't handle the heat of an exhaust header.

A lot of powdercoating businesses also apply ceramic header coating. A few places near me offer the same service.

Bobby's right. I had them ceramic coated by the guy who also does powder coating.

I GOT SIDETRACKED TODAY.....

So, I know I was supposed to have been sanding my firewall for the last two days, buuuut, I was checking KIJIJI (Canadian version of Craigslist) and I found something I've been looking for, for a long time!

A short box!!!!! My dad and I jumped in his truck, hooked up the trailer, and we took off this morning. It was about a 4 hour drive each way. The box is not perfect by any means. It does need some work, but compared to what you would expect to find up here(if you could find anything!), it is in very good condition. Originally the box came from Virginia. I also got the front fenders from the same truck, and a steering column. All of it for $220!

Not much of an update. Got everything pulled out of the firewall. Brake lines, gas line, all the wiring is gone. Started sanding and ran out of sandpaper. I did order some parts from DC, which should arrive sometime next week.

I hate sanding
