2008 F350 4wd srw vs drw fron bearing assemblies?

Looking at the horizon ford parts website, the auto hub assemblies for the DRW are about 200$ cheaper than th he SRW assemblies.

Are they different mechanically? Has anyone ever compared them?

Thanks,

Jared

I would see if you can pull up a picture of them both. I am inclined to think that won't work.

Maybe cheaper but I don't think I would try it.

Give them a call and speak to them on the phone. A savvy parts guy can tell you as well.

I'm just curious, if the vast majority of parts for the various super duties are the same, why are just the front wheel bearing assembly different? I'll see if I cant get a couple to compare. I asked parts guy wyatt about it but not heard back yet.

I don't think that a DRW front hub would work on the SRW because of the rim configuration. The hub maybe the same but there is that spacer for the heavier rims of the DRW.

Maybe that is the only difference. I just don't know.

wouldn't have thought of that - spacer is a good point.

that may be it, too - looking at aftermarket offerings, the prices are almost the same for either - but they are probably assuming that you are re-using your spacer.

the DRW OEM hub is competitively priced to the aftermarkets, but the SRW is 200 dollars more. Are Moog and Timken still considered OK companies? i know they both claim OEM replacements for the 08 SD.
