Taking off exterior tan accent panel on Eddie Bauer Exped

Hi all. This is about the tan accent panel on the exterior of the back driver's side door on my 2008 Eddie Bauer Expedition. See the photo, I'm talking about the gold/ tan part at the bottom of the door.

Well just on that one door, it is loose. It is only connected at the top. I knowingly bought it this way, and just haven't fixed it yet. The plan has been to use some type of glue to attach it back near the bottom. The top is still connected, but I can't tell if it is just a glue/ bondo that is holding it, or if there is a physical connection, like slots and tabs.

Any advice. Not sure if I should try taking it all the way off to get it really set back on correctly, or go ahead with the adhesive on the bottom. I'll get a photo up of how it is soon. Thanks!

A good double-sided automotive tape will keep you from losing it and keep it from banging around if you don't have time to fix it right now, without making it look like a hack job (i.e. duct tape). As for how to get it off...I'm honestly not sure. I'd have to dig out the repair manual on my wife's to get an idea. I would presume there is some kind of clip or pin, to at least have a positive location for factory assembly. If you can pry it out a little, lay under the door while it's open and look up in there with a good flashlight...you should be able to see at least some of what's under there.

Huh...just realized my post looks like I'm suggesting to use duct tape...not at all what i meant. I meant that duct tape would look like a hack job, so use something better...my apologies.
