2003 ranger won't start after shift tube replacement

If this is the shift tube on the steering column, you may have dislodged the actual ignition switch or the connector. Other than that, the MLPS- lever position sensor - which prevents cranking in gear, may need adjustment. You might also look for other wires that may have gotten pinched or disconnected.

You have given very little information. Does the starter motor crank the engine? Do you have warning lites lit on the dash when you first turn the key to 'on'? Does the PATS - anti theft light- flash? Do you have the fuel pump running for ~5 seconds when you first turn the key to 'on'? Do you have spark at the plugs? Is there fuel in the tank?
You will get more suggestions the more information you provide. Did you check the MLPS lever position sensing switch?

i can jump the cellonode on the starter with a screwdriver and it will start. All the lights come on when key is in on position. The anti theft light is flashing. dont think its the fuel pump cuz it starts with the screwdriver jump. where exactly is the MLPS lever position sensing switch located? tried an anti theft reset button i found tried it with key in both on and off position nothing happened any more ideas?
