Really, there's only two ways you can hook the lines up -- pressure from pump to one port on the HB, line from that to the steering box, or vice-versa. If you get it backwards, you will hear the PS pump whine constantly and have very little brake assist... /unless/ you turn the wheel at the same time. This is how you know you need to swap the lines.
The return(low pressure) line just needs to get back into the sump, however you want to do it.
