no power to fuel pumps

So I have fuel injection but im running into fuel pump problems and my tanks are bad so can I run a twelve volt pump to a gas can n make my truck run

Under yor dash there's a little button that you can push and I believe it resets the fuel pumps. I'd try that

As long as the pump puts out 45psi fuel pressure and you run a return line from the fuel pump regulator back to the can.
You will also need a fuel injection filter between the pump and the fuel rail.
The fuel hoses for the pressure side must be fuel injection rated with two fuel injection hose clamps on each end of the pressure hose.
