Hey everyone
I just recently bought an '89 F-250 reg cab-long bed, 2wd, 460, 5 speed and 4.10 rear gear w/posi. I was always an 88-98 Chevy truck guy, I've had a bunch, but also had a soft spot for the 87-96 Fords. Back in 94-96, I landscaped while going to school, my work truck was a '91 F-350 stake bed with a 351 and 5 speed. Man, I dug that truck! Well, a few years ago I found myself truckless and was looking for a beater to help me get some stuff around the house done. Post "Cash 4 Clunkers" beaters were hard to come by...then there it was, standing tall on craigslist, a 93 2wd F-250 with the 460 and ZF 5 speed for $1200. A big block and 5 speed?! Bad--s! I loved that truck (it was a rusty heap but ran like a raped ape) and like an idiot, sold it to buy an 88 Chevy 2500. What a mistake. Eventually, I offloaded the Chevy and stumbled across a really cheap and really solid, for Ohio, '70 F-250 that just needed a transmission. It was okay, but it wasn't what I wanted & sold it last week to an older guy who was restoring a '68 Mustang and wanted something period correct to run for parts in.
Luckily, I found a truck very similar to my 93 almost immediately. This new truck is in much better shape, at least as the body goes but needs some TLC, especially the fuel system. Once I get the maintenanc-y stuff done, I plan to redo the exhaust, right now it's got a hollowed out cat and no muffler. My neighbors just love it:P
It's good to be here, looking forward to meeting everyone
