I was at one of the BFT roundups for this new truck and one of the biggest take-aways I had was the offest cost of repairs by making the truck more modular. For some reason I'm not seeing this in online discussions on body repair work. Labor is as expensive as parts, so if you can save on labor then you pick up on parts. Also, while there are some challenges with painting on AL, Ford trucks have had AL hoods since the 90s.... If I were buying a 2014, I'd be cheap and get the 5.0 because it's more than enough for my work. Looking at the 15 I have to give edge to the 2.7, for the discounted price of the motor it's awesome. If you are considering compare to 4.6 or 5.0 then you'll be very pleased with the 2.7.
