2001 Mountaineer - starting issue - brand new issue
I have a 2001 Mountaineer and I love it. Great truck - has been faithful.
Today we started it - drove it around to the front and then 30 minutes later the battery was dead.
Called Roadside and they came out to jump start it (-0 last night and around 0 now)
The battery is perhaps 6 months old - heavy duty battery 5 year one actually.
When hooked to service truck, it just cranks, but acts like it is out of gas. 3/4 tank of gas and the jump obviously won't take.
Any ideas?
Due to a car accident, I am not able to do the repair my self.
Thanks in advance.

Are you able to confirm if it is getting spark, and if so, also if it is getting fuel? A quick check for fuel could be to spray some throttle body cleaner or similar in to the throttle body while cranking the engine and see if it sputters like it wants to start.
If no fuel and no spark, it could be a failed crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Although the CKP sensor would not explain the dead battery. That doesn't mean there cannot be more than one issue causing the trouble starting the truck though.
