Which Transmissions Came With V10s

Hey guys. Iv owned my V10 for over a year now and I thought I knew everything about it. I have tried trading the ol gal in several times but between dealerships being dealerships and not getting the loan, I still own it. Now Im considering keeping it. There are two reasons I want to sell it:
1. Rust
2. Fuel Mileage
One can be fixed, the other is more difficult. I was browsing Gear Vendors hoping a double OD would drop my RPMs and save me $$$ but I couldn't find a unit to fit my truck. The year and, what I thought was my transmission, wasn't matching up. Then I got to browsing around the internet and now Im wondering if Iv even got the transmission I think I do!

When I was hot and heavy into V10s, I woulda swore the 3v and 5R110 came out in the same year: 2005. After browsing the internet, Iv read a couple times the 5R110 came out in mid 2003. And now that Im thinking about it, I feel like the 3V didn't come out until later, like 2009. Im so flustered, Im not even sure if I know anything about V10s anymore!

Sorry for the long intro

up to 05 it was a 4R100. 05 and up is the 5R110. You will never recover the costs of a secondary OD unit btw

The 3 valve and 5R110 arrived in 2005. The diesel 6.0L had the 5R110 starting mid year 2003.

My thoughts, too. You can buy a lot of gas for the cost of the OD unit and the extras, like driveshaft changes and whatever else.
Changing how you drive the truck is free, and can net more fuel savings than any modification.
