Looking to put a Bakflip VP cover on my truck. Anyone have experience with this model?

Not with the VP, but I've got the F1 and love it. It's the best of both worlds as far as covers go. Totally water-proof and yet can be folded back so I can use the entire bed when I need it. I'd highly recommend their products.

Just chiming in to vouch for the F1. I've only had it on for about 3 weeks, but I am loving it so far. Installation was super easy.

I had the BacFlip on my previous truck for about 4 years and 100,000 miles. It worked just as good when I sold the truck as when I first installed it. I have the G2 on my current truck, 2 years and 62,000 miles still works great. My brother just bought a 2014 F150 with the Ford folding cover. It looks like it might be the F1 with a Ford logo. He's only had it a few weeks and likes it. His cover looks and feels like mine however his panels might be slightly thicker.
When you first install the cover the rubber seals may be deformed from sitting in the box. A few hours of sun light or a heat lamp makes them lay out nice.

I had one on my truck, but the way it opens when hauling I just didn't care for...The backflip is bulletproof and is far superior than the soft tonneau that I have now, however I like the way the soft functions and does pretty much the same thing. Now the backflip sits in my garage until either I need it or until I sell it. Hindsight is 20/20 looking back

Thanks for all the replies. I decided to go with a soft cover - Truxedo Lo Pro. When I haul my competition BBQ equipment I need ALL of the bed. There is literally only a 1/4" between the smoker and the tailgate. So a soft cover made more sense.

In that case the soft cover might be better. The BacFlip is super easy to take off and put back on. It can be done in under a minute with no tools. The cover does fold up out of the bed. I'm not sure where you need your clearance at. Good Luck.

It's all about personal preference. I bought an Undercover Flex today, and I think I'm really going to like it. It doesn't rest on the back of the cab when folded up, and it is fiberglass coated. Also, I'm thinking it will fare better through the high pressure car wash. There are a lot of different choices out there!

Just purchased 2014 F150 and started researching the tonneau covers. I have six coworkers who rave about the different Bakflip tonneau covers, but I'm leaning more toward a roll-up tonneau cover. Not too crazy about the price range of the Bakflips. This is my first truck after having an Expedition and IH Scouts prior to that and I never knew that there were so many tonneau cover choices available. I'm going to continue to research for the time being.

I have had a G2 for 4 years on my 2010 and have great things to say about it. Keeps contents of box dry while travelling and holds up well to snow. The deciding factor for me was the reasonably priced rack for the kayaks for camping while pulling the RV. The BakFactory Outlet had some great prices when I ordered mine and shipping to Northern NY was quick and painless.
