When we got 14" of wet snow last winter, I had to take 3 passes at it with my Jeep...
I tried dropping the plow all the way and pushing off to the side but did not have enough traction / weight to move it more than 10' or so before I just sat and spun the tires.
Lifted the plow up and backed up.
Took a run at it with the plow lifted and angled - I ran the length of the driveway (about 200') to push the top 4" off to the side and driving through 10" with the tires and almost didn't make it to the end of the driveway.
Backed up in my tracks, dropped the plow and then lifted it about 5" and hit it again and did the same thing.
Backed up in my tracks again and dropped the plow to the ground and made it most the way but stalled out about 25 feet from the end..
Backed up about 30', put it in low range and gave it hell.. Made it!!!
I had to let the transmission cool a while in neutral about 1500 RPM, then spend the next 2 hours whitteling away at it until I had the driveway cleared...
I have to say that my little 3200# Wrangler did a good job for what it is, but snow like that was truly out of the league of that setup...

Sorry Jay - you're wrong in this case. My neighbor's John Deere tractor with 4' blower couldn't make it through this stuff without continually plugging up the chute. Neighbor on the other side used his two stage 10hp unit and was at it all afternoon and he finally got an 8' path cleared from his garage to the street.
This stuff was wet and heavy as it came down and the temps dropped to the mid teens which made it like plowing cement as Jim was pointing out with the snowfall he just had to deal with..
One older barn just down the road had part of the roof cave in. Luckly only machinery in it.
It was good for the sledders and cross country skiers in the area, but that's about it..

There is 9" of snow you can walk on without sinking. My trailer had 15" on it but around 10-11 on the ground. The only draw back is there really isn't any frost in the ground so still sticky on the bottom. Tuesday and Wednesday look to be upper 30's to mid 40's then cool back down. Going to be lots of trees to clean up
