"new" to me Bullnose

Bought it about a week ago, 1980 F250 300 inline 6, 2wd 39000 original miles, has 4 speed with granny. Extremely clean and well cared for, bought from original owner. Been looking around the forums all week learning about it, not my first ford truck but first of this age, will pry keep forever.

I have my list of things I want to do, but for now just driving it. Got a couple of questions for those who have been around these trucks a while. It has a block heater, pretty sure it has never been used, still has the factory wire tie holding it up. Anyone use theirs, and or had a problem with it? Also anyone who has pulled the lettering and trim, how did you do it? Someone attempted to polish it and there is dried something all over it and around it and I want to pull it off and clean and get it off.

Nice ride, my first Ford truck was an 80 F250, supercab. It had the 351M, with a 4 speed.

IMO it's best to leave the letters in place and use a scrub brush or some such; they're held in with these sort-of expanding barrel-nut-type of things and they will never be as tight if you remove and reinstall them.

To add to that, you're likely going to mess up the paint as you need to pry them up and off; each letter has two prongs on it which fit into matching holes in the hood (where the holes contain the expanding barrel-nut things).

That truck is really nice and clean. Do you have any picture of the engine bay?
