i have a 97 f150 4x4 that i am doing a swap on. the dohc motor came out of a 98 Lincoln viii.

do i need to use my wiring harness on my f150 or the lincolns? i have the new engines wiring harness and computer etc.

if i used the new engines computer and harness would i still have to delete the imrc?

this is my first major swap i need all the advice you have on what i need to swap arounnd on the truck.

if any one has done this swap please help me thanks

 

Anyone have anything I'm doing this swap on my four day I'm in the army so i don't get time to do this often any suggestions or advice would be awesome and very appreciated!?

 

I'm far from an expert on this topic but will tell you I assisted my neighbor on an engine swap he did on an older Explorer. Long story short, it was a nightmare and took quite a while to get the technical help he needed to get the thing running right. He ended up replacing the cluster, computer, and two other harnesses behind the dash from a donor vehicle that all matched.

I'm not sure if you'll have a similar issue but if you have an electrical background it will definately be a good thing.
