97 F-150 with Motor driven odometer
I guy really has to appreciate a good running Ford, but it can be a Harbinger from Hell when it stops being a good running truck.
I noticed my Odometer was not working. I should have stopped right there and went on my way without the Odometer.
The whole cluster is something near $400.
I checked this site, and found out how to get the cluster out.
What I found was a little motor that drives the Odometer wheels.
The Gear on the end of that motor was broken.
Nope! You cannot get that motor or the Gear.
Other guys had a Cold solder problem. So I got out my princess iron and Solder Sucker and cleaned up the little board.
When I put it all back together, nothing in the Dash would work.
The lights come on, the gauges all go to Zero, the Truck runs, but none of the gauges work at all.
I'm positive I plugged all three of those Electrical connectors in, as I replaced that dash.
Has anybody else experienced this?
The motor drive gear is missing from the plastic housing.
