Metal rain guards possible to replace?

Ok, I will admit to being a bit OCD when it comes to symmetry. So my '89 is missing the rain guard over the window. Can only assume this was taken off and not replaced as the door was definitely re-painted. Are these removable? Can they be purchased after market to be replace? I know the plastic ones just use an adhesive but the one on the passenger side looks like its actually part of the door or is between the door and the seal. Any help would be appreciated.

I took a set off an '89 in a Pull a Part. They had little Phillips-head screws holding them on. I doubt you'll find aftermarket ones that look factory, your best bet is probably a junkyard.

those are aftermarket.i have a set on chip truck.they are stainless steel and they are held on via small Philips head screws like 87-xl stated.

you can remove it if you want,or you can buy another set.

as F250 said, they are aftermarket vent shades, not factory items.
they slip between the door and window seal, then you drill a 1/16 hole and secure them with mini phillips head screws.

Thanks for the responses guys. I actually like these better than the plastic ones (and until I replace the passenger window motor its keeping the rain out from the window not staying up all the way. I've shimmed it up with some cardboard for now, but want to get the motor soon.

Speaking of rain, do any of you know where the most likely spot under the cowl or behind the dash/firewall that may leak when it rains? Its not major, but when its a really heavy rain, I'm getting some drops on the driver side by the parking brake.

either the windshield seal, or the cowl. my bet is the seal though.
only way to really tell is to get your head up under the dash with a light, and have someone run a hose over the truck and look to see where the leak is.

These little jewels affectionately known as a cow pu**y will become clogged with debris over the years. I think they can be accessed by removing the inner fender splash shield, cleaned up and reinstalled. If your cowl fills up during your windshield seal test then these are the issue. There's one on each side.

Ah, I'll take a look and see if they are clogged. Would not be surprised as I cleaned a ton of stuff out of cowl itself when I got the truck. Looks like it sit for awhile before I acquired it. I'll also do the hose test just to make sure the seal is good as well.

Just going through my 87 with H2O leak. 460 carbed. Plug was loose on cowl. Looks like an opening for a computer. Re-installed that but I know it wasn't the main problem. Taking off cowl is next. As water seems to now be running into the cab just above where the floor rug ends.
