Did ford ever offer a hydro version clutch for the 300 six?

Hello
Im on the large truck forum with an f600 supercab conversion.. The f600 is a 300 six with the NP 435...

I am wondering if ford offered this transmission and a hydro clutch in the late years of production in the light duty pickup.. I would like to convert mine to hydro...

Thank you for taking this off year question...

I would say yes , my 87 F250 has your exact combo from the factory except with 4WD.

The hydro clutch began some time in 83 and continued throughout the production in the light trucks (96 F150/Bronco, 97 F250HD/F350). Not sure what's involved in converting a manual clutch in a dentside, which is what that cab looks like, but maybe someone in the dentside section would know.

83 to 87/88 you could get the T18/T19/NP435 with the hydro clutch. Look behind any smallblock, 300 I6, 302 and 351w. 87 and up with the 5spd went to an integral bell housing. The ZF5 found in the F250HD and F350 would possibly work if you wanted to switch to a 5 speed, not sure about a driveline brake, etc though. Stay away from the Mazda 5spd found in the F150's etc behind the I6, and 302. I'm not sure if they put those behind the 351w in the F150's. There's also a light duty F250 which may have the Mazda trans.

The bell from the 4spd trucks will have everything in place to connect the hydro slave. You'll just need to figure out how to mount the master to the firewall and connect the pedal or modify your mechanical linkage to work it and remote mount it. Again, maybe the dentside guys would know.

Neat truck BTW.
