Quick question about injector bad O-rings

Good morning and Happy Holidays fellas, hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving!
Quick question about a trait of bad injector O-Rings; would the fuel in the bowl be black too? I've got a longer crank time when hot and maybe a very slight wandering idle; I've had it since we got back from Az last winter. When I pulled the fuel filter last weekend during an oil change it was dark/black but the fuel was clear as day ( fliter had maybe 8K on it give or take). I realize a timely hot start could also be IPR O-rings but I wanted to check on the filter issue as well.. Thanks.

Black filter usually indicates coolant in fuel, which is typically caused by leaking injector cups not just orings alone. Reason being is the only thing those orings should come into contact with is fuel and oil, the coolant is supposed to be sealed behind the cup.

I believe that's right, the high oil pressure forces oil past the leaky injector o rings into the fuel.

What, what? I thought the rule of thumb was black filter/oil in fuel? + I'd would think that if I had hard start when warm symptoms being caused by bad injector cups and coolant passing them that Id see my expansion tank level slowly going down which is not the case; not to mention I pressure tested the system last month...

Appreciate the feedback!
A while back I watched a YouTube of a guy doing them; it was actually really informative, doesn't look that difficult..

Just finished changing my orings for the first time yesterday, lots of good info on the net about it and it really wasnt that bad. I pulled drain plugs in head and removed farthest back injector first, and only ever ended up with oil in those two cylinders. I tried a few different methods to get the oil out - transfer pump got most of it from one, then I stuffed a rag in the injector sleeve and blew compressed air through a hose into the glow plug hole. That worked well. Still bumped it over a time or two on that side before I put glow plugs in just to make sure. Other side, I just stuck the valve cover back over temporarily and bumped it over a time or two to clear, not nearly as much oil on that side for some reason. Anyway, my two cents.
