F6 emergency brake

F6 emergency brake
I have a 1950 F6 that I plan on swapping the drivetrain out to a 390 and a C6. Currently, it has a Merc '53 flattie that needs lots of work and the stock 4sp. The emergency brake is part of the output shaft on the transmission. Can this be adapted to a C6? Would adapting it be a good idea? There is no provision for an e-brake on the stock rear axle, can one be swapped in to the existing 2sp rear, maybe from a similar later model?

Ford installed trans mounted parking brakes on C6s when used in medium trucks. Good luck finding one. There may be modified C6 transmissions used in industrial applications, like airport tugs, with such brakes. Good luck finding one. Then there is this, from '96. It looks like the adapter uses the same pattern as the transfer case adapter for a 4x4. So your trans needs to be a 4x4 model. Forget modifying your 2wd C6, as it requires a full teardown to change the tailshaft housing. Anyway, this might give you enough to search further:

The 88-96 F-SUPERDUTYs (a F-450 really) had a trans mounted park brake operated by cable.
These truck look just like a F350s in wrecking yards, look for 2WD straight front axle and 10 lug wheels.
it bolted on to the back of the trans.
These units will bolt on in place of a 4WD transfer case I am told.
find one and use a 4WD C6 and you should good to go.
