disc brakes
hey guys, I have a 1955 coe c500, has a 14 ft dump bed and the truck is in very good condition. I am wanting to put disc brakes on the front axle, does anybody know of a conversion that i can do to this axle? If this isnt possible, is there a complete axle swap that is possible?, thanks Richard

too heavy to ship
I seen those for local pickup only and can tell you they are also very early year disc units. Bottom line is if you cant still buy the rotors and disc units youre not going gain alot. They are step van units maybe good for a car hauler because you can use the coe springs.

I know of a 1955 F350 in N GA that has a disk brake conversion that utilizes king pin type spindles, rotors, and front steer from an early E series 250 or 350 front end. I think the builder used the E series PS box to incorporate the cross steer. The donor was probably a motgorhome chassis. The builder said the axle required work to fit the king pins.
A later Dana rear end allows eight lug wheels all around.
