Right fender just off the end of the vac box

 

It WILL effect the operation of the heat controls while IN 4x4 only.

 

This is all that I've noticed, been running Warn's for a long while now. A/C will blow out of everything if 4x is engaged, otherwise no issues. Air goes back to normal operation when switched back to 2wd.

 

Just put a plug in the line at the fitting on the frame rail and go on with life...

 

not just a/c what ever you select for output. and the system is designed to default to defrost only in the event of losing vac.


no matter what you do something somewhere needs to be done to plug the hose/s if you want everything to work like the day it was made

 

It doesn't get cold enough here for heat, lol. My experience is AC only. But thanks for the correction, good looking out.

 

Yes, a buddy of mine's F150 A/C blows through the defrost vents.
Come on man. Fix your junk.

Honestly I have no idea, I dug around in the tool box until I found one that fit and would hold a vacuum. That's what I used.

I currently have 4.88 gears in the rear and 3.73 up front. To avoid any accidental binding situations I just unplugged the electrical connector from the vacuum switch/solenoid on the right front fenderwell. Everything works HVAC wise as it should and now if it gets switched to 4 High or Low on the dash the transfer case will do it's thing but the hubs won't lock and bind up the driveline. Handy now too for when I am backing the TT into spots as I use 4 Low (now 2 Low in my case) to have better control and it helps to avoid trans front seal overheating and leakage. Once I get around to swapping in the 4.88 front axle I will reconnect the vacuum switch/solenoid and add a dash switch and relay to allow for 2 Low again when desired.

 

Does anyone have a good write up with pics on pulling hubs? I have a short time window Sunday morning to pull mine and would like to make sure there are no surprises.
