LED taillight/marker lights

has anyone used these? also see that they may need resistors to be used as turn signals? can someone enlighten me?

I've been thinking about converting to LED but haven't got around to it, so I can't comment if those bulbs are any good. I know they make LED flashers so you don't need to ad resistors. The NAPA number is "LIT 285" but you could probably find one online for less.

I bought a set of LED bulbs and decided I would also increase the "reflective-ness" of my lights by powder coating them gloss white:

(Yes these are front lights, but same for rear.)

I got the load resistors on eBay too, they're not very expensive.

At night they look good, in the daytime I would describe them as "adequate."

Did you get white lights or red?

Do you have Part number for the resistors? I have no experience with them.

With LED lights you always want then to be the same as the lens color. So for the stop lights you would use red bulbs NOT clear.

Mine were pretty rusted and I cleaned them up and pained with the chrome spray paint, seemed to make a noticeable difference in brightness.

I used the red 1157 LED's in the rear only of my econoline, left regular bulbs up front they kinda flash fast but work none the less.
However....for a custom touch i used a set of clear lenses on the taillights for a clean custom look and boy with the clear magnifier center of the lens they are wicked bright
...Remember the econoline used the same taillight assemblies as the 57-60 p/u's
