Check to see if the fuel pressure regulator has blown its diaphragm. Pull the vacuum line on it to see if there is fuel in it. This is about the only way I can think of that fuel would get into the oil; getting sucked into the intake manifold, and making its way past the rings.
"I was thinking the intake might not of(sic) sealed perfectly..."
The intake manifold is otherwise dry; there should be no fuel in there, except maybe right at the port where the fuel injectors sit.

I concur with XLT.
I had a fuel pressure regulator fail about a year ago. Same story- I couldn't get the car to start and discovered that one of the cylinders was filling up with gasoline.
An easy check is to disconnect the vacuum line to the regulator and suck on it. If you get a mouth full of gas, or a lungful of fuel fumes and the unit doesn't hold suction, the diaphragm has ruptured.
