Ive had a lot of problems with this truck and strongly believe the pcm is bad so i bought a used one now it wont start.Just to let you know i did put old one back in to see if it did run with it and it did . i spoke to the dealer they say i have to bring it in to program it for the PATS. I know its got to be programed but does it have to be the dealer thank you for any help on this

It can be done elsewhere but make sure they are not just making a clone key. The truck needs to be present and they "hook into" the computer.
Only a dealer or a well-equipped locksmith or mechanic is going to be able to re-program the system. Retail stores that sell chipped keys are selling cloned keys and that will be useless to you.
Bottom line is that you cannot simply swap out the PCM on most PATS-equipped Fords.
