Do I have a light bulb out?

Does you headlight switch illuminate with the dash lights at night? I have a light that turns on when I pull the switch for the fog lights but other than that its dark over there.

2004 Ex Eddie Bauer trim level with auto headlight switch.

Thanks

I think it's a small LED type like in the window switches that can't be easily replaced. I'm not looking at mine right now, so I can't say for sure but if it's painted then no, if it's translucent like the window switches then yes.

Good point, I didn't look close enought to see if it is translucent or not, I will check on that shortly. Just seems dark over there and like it should be lit up but I figured you guys would be able to say yes or no for sure.

I just went out and checked, i have an '05 eddie bauer with autolamps.

There are 6 symbols on the headlight panel that each lite up (appears to be backlit) with parking/headlight switch on, along with ALL dashboard switches and radio controls. The 7th is fog lites on when you pull out the light switch

The door window controls come on with key in on position, regardless of headlight switch.

Thanks for taking the time to do that Misky, I am going to assume mine should lite up too. I think you are probably correct about a backlight scenario. I forgot to look and see if they were translucent or not yesterday. I will dig in and report back on my findings. Thanks

Thought I'd post here, my light on the 4x4 switch is out... Does anyone have a pic of the back or of the light needed or if a new switch comes with a light bulb. Any info would be helpful.

Michael, my 4x4 switch light is also out but my dash indicator light works therefore not a huge deal right now. Especially since the weather is turning again and I'm NOT laying in some cold wet snow/mud for an extra light. but if someone knows of a quick fix. . .

I've got a plan, drop your truck off at my house when you head north (I'm in Northeast Ohio) I'll fix your light and you can start upgrading my truck. . . Sound good? LOL. I'll likely pull it apart this weekend and see if I can get something going. I'll keep you posted.
