1984 f150 302 ci restoring
Hello everyone
from Italy a fan of v8 !
I still working for months on my f150
I wanted it for many years and now I have one ! It must be restored completely
I have big problems with carburetor 2bbl
I possess a edelbrok 4bbl
I'd like to install it
I saw that there are many problems with the cable tv and pressure regulation
I did not understand where is this pressure
I saw from your thread that is possible to burn transmission ???
I need help -please

The fluid pressure inside the tranny is what makes the tranny "automatic". It uses this pressure level to determine when to shift. It uses the throttle position on the carb(the cable) and the road speed from the governor inside the tranny, to determine the pressure, and this determines what gear and how firm the shifts are.
If the throttle is not opened very much, and the road speed is increasing, the tranny shifts soft and quickly up to high gear for fuel economy. If the throttle is opened a lot, this lets the tranny know you want good acceleration, and it raises the pressure inside the tranny. This makes it rev higher and delays the shifts, and when it does shift the shifts are firmer, clamping the clutches together with more authority and less slippage.
If you get it out of adjustment, and you demand a lot from the engine and open the throttle, but the tranny doesn't know this and gives you quick shifts with a lot of slippage, it's very easy to burn the clutches in the tranny up.
